When you decide to start a renovation focused mainly on the interior design, different doubts usually arise regarding the process, but, above all, regarding the final result. The before and after images of this intervention in Baeza Street in Madrid show the great possibilities that this house had and the satisfaction of having achieved the objectives set.
From the moment we were proposed to carry out this project, we were clear about the main mission: to rearrange the little space available to make the most of it with an efficient distribution. As in all our projects, we started from a fundamental premise: to create a functional, comfortable and aesthetic space for the well-being of people.
The bulk of the interior design reform focuses on the total use of the usable area of the loft. loftlooking for maximum comfort when living the space. With the elimination of partitions and the division of the rooms by means of glass separating panels, or even with the furniture itself, we manage to create a fluid space that provides a feeling of spaciousness, and where there is no lack of light anywhere.
The second of our objectives was the search for comfort; to ensure that the spaces, in addition to fulfilling their basic functions, would become a welcoming alternative despite their limited dimensions. And for this, issues such as the size and placement of furniture, storage spaces or the distribution of the interior, among others, were focused on that purpose.
But, in addition, this interior design reform in Madrid was a real aesthetic challenge. We were looking for a current concept and, at the same time, an image that would make it unique.
In short, a reform project in which we have combined different variables. On the one hand, the enhancement of a reduced but fully exploited space; the practicality of the spaces, making the most of the storage space; a modern design that fits the personality of the clients and above all and mainly, the search for the feeling of comfort and well-being of those who will live there.
What should you take into account when making a house renovation?
When you decide to undertake an integral reform in your home, it is crucial to be clear about the specific needs of the project from the beginning. Determining the distribution of spaces, installations, selection of materials, windows, doors, equipment, style, colors and furniture is fundamental for the success of the process. Once you have a well-defined interior design project, with the corresponding plans and an established budget, it is time to plan and manage all the tasks that will be carried out during the work.
A renovation is a complex process that requires meticulous attention to prevent unforeseen events and budget deviations. Therefore, it is advisable to have the help of a professional to help you design the project and supervise the works.
Next, I will explain the main phases and processes that are needed to carry out a renovation in your home:
Building permit:
Before starting any type of construction, it is mandatory to obtain a building permit or license. This permit is the municipal authorization required to carry out any type of construction work. Depending on the magnitude of the renovation and the requirements of the municipality, a specific type of license will be required. It is advisable to have the help of a professional to apply for and manage this permit correctly.
Initial move:
If you currently live in the home you are renovating, or if you have purchased a furnished home, the first step is to empty the space. Efficient planning and organization are key to a successful move. You should consider aspects such as the right time to move, what items you want to reuse, disassembly, packing, moving and storage of your belongings. You can choose to do it on your own or hire a specialized company that adapts to your needs.
3. Demolitions:
This phase involves the total or partial demolition of structures, coverings, flooring, installations and furniture inside the house that are not to be reused. It is important to follow the technical drawings and take appropriate safety measures to prevent accidents during this stage.
4. Masonry:
Various works are carried out here, such as floor leveling, construction of partition walls, openings and holes in walls, and preparation of the plumbing and electrical installations.
5. Facilities:
In this phase, all the installations planned for the house are prepared, such as the water pipes, the heating system, the electrical wiring and the internet and telephone connections. It is essential to have authorized installers who comply with current safety regulations.
6. Coatings and pavements:
Works such as plastering walls and ceilings, as well as laying floor tiles are carried out. A variety of materials and finishes can be used, such as ceramic, wood or porcelain, according to the customer’s preferences and needs.
7. Plasterboard:
Plasterboard is used to create false ceilings and partition walls inside the house. It is an economical and versatile option that allows concealing electrical installations and improving the thermal and acoustic insulation of the space.
8. Carpentry and joinery:
Doors, windows and custom-made furniture, such as built-in closets and shelving, are installed. Wood surface restoration work is also carried out.
9. Equipment:
The different rooms of the house are equipped with furniture, appliances and decorative accessories.
10. Painting:
Surfaces are prepared and paint is applied on walls, ceilings and other elements according to the previously established design.
11. Cleanliness:
Once the work is completed, a thorough cleaning is carried out to remove dust, construction materials and any other residue.
12. Final move:
Finally, the furniture, appliances and other personal items are brought back to the renovated home and placed in their proper place.
